Estimating investments in AdsWizard

Updated over a week ago

In AdsWizard, competitor advertising spend estimates are calculated based on your own reference data.

Reach, CPM, or CPMPA: here’s how to retrieve these essential metrics from each advertising platform.

For Reach-Based Platforms

Meta, TikTok, and Pinterest operate using a reach-based model.

Their associated cost metric is Cost per 1,000 People Reached (CPMPA).

To feed your AdsWizard reports, you’ll need to retrieve both reach and cost per 1,000 people reached from the relevant business managers.

Meta & TikTok

  1. Access the relevant ad account in:

    • Meta Business Manager

    • TikTok for Business Ads Manager

  2. Select the correct analysis level and date range:

    • Click the Ads tab (the most granular analysis level)

    • Choose the date range you want to analyze

  3. Click Columns → Customize Columns, then add:

    • Reach

    • Cost per 1,000 Accounts Center Accounts Reached (Meta)

    • Cost per 1,000 People Reached (TikTok)

  4. Click Apply and retrieve the values to import into your report.

Pinterest

  1. Access the relevant ad account in Pinterest Business Manager.

  2. Select the correct analysis level and date range:

    • Click the Ads tab (the most granular analysis level)

    • Choose the date range you want to analyze

  3. Click Modify Columns, then add:

    • Audience (Reach)

    • Spend (Total amount spent during the selected period)

  4. Click Apply, then:

  • Import the Reach directly into your AdsWizard report

  • Calculate your Cost per 1,000 People Reached using the following formula: (your ad spend / total audience) x 1000.
You can now import this value into your AdsWizard report.

For Impression-Based Platforms

Google, Snapchat, and Bing primarily operate on an impression-based model.

Their associated cost metric is CPM (Cost per 1,000 Impressions).

To feed your reports, you’ll need to retrieve the CPM from the relevant ad platforms.

Google, Snapchat & Bing

  1. Access the relevant ad account in:

    • Google Ads

    • Snapchat Business Ads Manager

    • Microsoft Advertising (Bing)

  2. Select the desired date range.

  3. Click Columns → Modify Columns, then add CPM.

  4. Apply the changes and retrieve the CPM value.
